One of the characters was Jodie Landon, class president, one of Daria’s friends, and a representative of Black teens together with Mack, a footballer, and her boyfriend. Jodie usually was seen involved in many extracurricular activities or dealing with her strict parents whose main goal was to get her into a great college. Although popular, Jodie is selective with her friendships and is one of the few people who truly gets Daria.
So why is a character from a series that hasn’t aired in 20 years suddenly so popular? Last January 21, Comedy Central presented the logo of Jodie, a spin-off feature film that will turn the character into a college graduate. Although the release date is yet to be announced, we can expect Jodie to become a popular character among a new generation of tweens and teens. She was voiced by actress Jessica Cyndee Jackson in the series, although in the movie the role will be taken over by Tracee Ellis Ross (Black-ish).

Character 3: Riley Freeman on The Boondocks
Young boys can pull off braids and look hardcore! If you don’t believe me, look at 8-year-old Riley, the younger brother of Huey from the graphic novel The Boondocks and the 2005 animated series on Adult Swim. He’s a gangster-wannabe with a strong personality: He loves money more than anything, and he’s loud and impatient, almost the opposite of his big brother. He spends his time with rappers and loves the thug life. He’s reckless and doesn't mind breaking the law if it’ll get him what he wants.
His usual outfit is a white t-shirt, baggy trousers, and sneakers. This hairstyle is classic straight-back cornrows which you can also find in Sunny Braids’ hairstyle selection. This makes him a simple, yet great character to cosplay at the Puerto Rico Comic Con 2024.
Character 4: Abigail Lincoln on Codename: Kids Next Door
Codename: Kids Next Door was another popular animated show from the early 2000s, that premiered on Cartoon Network. The show lasted 6 seasons and then spun off into a trading card game, two video games, and comic books. If Eliza Thornberry is an explorer, then Abigail Lincoln portrays the child version of a spy. Also known by her code name Numbuh 5, Abigail, “Abby” Lincoln is intelligent, relaxed, and has positive leadership traits. Voiced by actress Cree Summer, Abigail is an African-American girl who usually wears a blue and white t-shirt, big golden hoop earrings, a red cap, and a single, long, thick braid with a red scrunchie. All About Puerto Rico Comic Con 2024
Every year, fans from different parts of the Caribbean gather together at the amazing Puerto Rico Comic Con events that this year take place in San Juan at the PR Convention Center. The first time the Puerto Rico Comic Con took place was 22 years ago, in 2002, at the YMCA of Hato Rey. Back then, only 1,000 people assisted. Now it has turned into a 3-day experience that attracts over 40,000 visitors from different areas of the region and hosts international stars from show business.
Puerto Rico Comic Con 2024 will take place in March, Friday 29th, Saturday 30th, and Sunday 31st, at the PR Convention Center.
